The crew of the recently-launched Artemis II spacecraft have been left "disappointed" after a huge blunder involving the music of Chappell Roan.
Following its recent launch, Artemis II will be the first manned craft to journey beyond Earth's low orbit since 1972. It's the first step of the new Artemis program, which will hopefully make history by building mankind's first permanent base on the Moon in the 2030s.
But there was a recent awkward moment for the crew that was captured for posterity on a livestream.
People can watch the progress of Artemis II on a livestream, and there was one notable blunder on the weekend.
The crew of the Artemis II were woken up when Chappell Roan's chart-topping hit Pink Pony Club started playing as a makeshift alarm.
The crew's bosses at NASA certainly picked an interesting song to use to wake them up, but the astronauts were left disappointed when, after having woken up, the song stopped playing just a minute in.
"We were all eagerly awaiting the chorus!" The mission's commander, Reid Wiseman said with the rest of the crew laughing in the background.
The Capsule Communicator at NASA was also heard saying that they would "try again next time," before wishing the crew luck for their mission.
The Artemis II mission is aiming to do a flyby past the Moon, becoming the first manned spacecraft to go beyond Earth's low orbit since 1972.
The crew are expected to fly past the far side of the Moon on April 6, and they will see the previously unseen side of the Moon, which is often tidally locked to Earth.
The aim of the Artemis II mission is to prepare for man's first mission to the Moon since 1972. This is so far scheduled to take place in 2028, two years after Artemis II's launch.
The wider Artemis program will hopefully then lead to the creation of the first man-made base on the Moon, which is projected to be built during the 2030s.
After this, it's hoped that the Moon base will act as a stepping stone to further deep space exploration, including the long-planned trip to Mars.
