Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt accidentally outshone Donald Trump on Sunday afternoon (September 27).
The mom of two officially stepped down from her role in Trump's cabinet in August, explaining that her decision was made so she could spend more time with her family.
She called it a 'bittersweet decision' and said the past year and a half had been the experience of a lifetime.
Now, Leavitt works for MAGA Inc., the president’s super PAC, while Trump is yet to find a replacement for her role.
But on Sunday, the former press officer had a social media blunder that inadvertently made her old boss look like a bit of a dud.
In case you missed it, Trump banned journalists from some of the US' most renowned networks from the White House, before starting his own news channel.
Just last week, the President banned CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from entering the White House, resulting in ABC, CBS, Fox News, and NBC protesting the ban.
Following a judge's order to immediately restore access to the White House for banned outlets, the Trump administration hasn't done much, as on Saturday, CNN said they were left off Air Force One.
The president has responded to outlets by launching a new 24-hour streaming service from the White House, called Trump TV.
Titled TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station, the channel opened to 8,500 viewers but fell short of the viewership generated by Leavitt's livestream over the weekend.
Leavitt was in bed with her five-month-old daughter, Viviana, when she accidentally went live on Instagram, as her followers saw the funnier side of things.
One asked on X: "Did Karoline Leavitt just accidentally go live on Instagram? This popped up and then quickly ended," with a screenshot of Leavitt's face from the stream.
Leavitt had 1,157 viewers at the time, and before long, she ended it and explained on her story: "Just accidentally went live while trying to edit a reel LOL.
"Sorry to those who got excited... but maybe I should go live soon and I can answer some questions from you guys?! For now, we are going to take our Sunday nap. Byeee!"
She looked startled upon realizing she was streaming, ending the broadcast without saying anything.
On the other hand, Trump TV had just 187 viewers at the time - at the time of writing, just over 400 people are tuned into the station on YouTube.
So far, the new channel has generated an underwhelming viewership, despite being described as 'essential' by the Trump administration.
They announced last week: “TRUMP TV IS STREAMING NOW. 24/7, updated in real time, with top past moments, announcements, and the latest and greatest from the administration all in one place. Not every big moment has made it on your tv, now it can.”
Bryan Broughton, Fox News Washington Bureau Chief, confirmed the collective decision across news outlets to boycott White House coverage last week, stating: “This is to advise that, effective today, the TV pool will not be covering events designated as pool coverage of the President.
“This follows the White House's position preventing CNN from fulfilling its assigned pool duties. There will be no replacement pool put in place.”
They have officially been let back in, despite recent dramas.
