An Uber Eats driver has revealed the trick she does to get bigger tips from thirsty male customers.
Jade Phoenix, who is based in Los Angeles, shared that her earnings increased after she started including her feet in delivery confirmation photos sent to customers.
The driver explained on her thread's account that she originally started delivering food in the early morning hours to earn extra spending money, but soon realized a subtle change could make a big impact.
"I started leaving my feet in the frame of the picture of the food by the door. I’ve seen my tips go up by a lot with people adding extra tips after the drop off!" she wrote.
Phoenix's post included several examples of the photos she sends customers. In one snap, a Starbucks bag sits on a doorstep while her feet in tan Birkenstock-style sandals with white-painted toenails appear at the bottom of the frame.
Other images show McDonald’s and brown paper delivery bags placed neatly by doors, each time with her feet making a clear appearance.
Many people took to their comment sections to share their reactions to her tactic. "Lowkey happy for you keep up the work footwork," one user praised.
"They’re clean. There’s no harm being done. I see that leg sliding forward more as you’re getting comfy with the idea. I say, go for it. Gas getting high, get them coins," a second shared.
A third applauded: "LMAO this is a gold medal strat right here, absolutely genius."
The post went viral, garnering more than 74K likes and 7.1K shares as other gig workers rushed to try the sneaky move for themselves.
It didn’t take long for the results to speak for themselves, with one user sharing a screenshot of their earnings after trying the trick, and admitting that they were "shook" by the outcome.
The picture showed a total trip balance of $65.04, including a huge $49.69 tip on a delivery that was originally expected to bring in around $15.99.
Despite the order taking nearly 50 minutes to complete, the customer increased the tip after delivery.
After the post exploded online, Phoenix expressed gratitude to her followers and reflected on the unexpected response.
"Okay wow, I did not think this would blow up this fast! If that lady could get a rotisserie chicken allowance imma get me a pedicure allowance. If you appreciate the game or the toes, you can leave a little tip too," she quipped under the post, adding a QR code of her Venmo account.
In another follow-up reply, the driver said: "This still doing numbers! I didn’t anticipate blowing up my main with feet, but here we are," she said. "Everybody’s support and love has been so life-giving tbh. I feel like threads is the girls girl club of social media, and my spirit and heart and feet have been blessed a million times over the last 24 hours.
"Ngl even the DM’s from the men folk have been respectful. I feel like I’m in an alternative universe, cause we all know how this can cut both ways on these threads streets so thank you all so much," she added.
