Mom comes under fire as husband who wanted 3 kids now has 11 after she told him to 'leave it to chance'
Karissa Collins never planned for a huge family when she and her husband first talked about having children. When he said he wanted two or three kids, she suggested they leave it up to chance, and that choice led to them having 11 children.
Karissa had her first daughter at age 25, and over 15 years she welcomed a baby nearly every year. Their eldest child is now 15 and their youngest is one.
The Collins family share regular clips of everyday moments on their TikTok page, showing life with a big household and capturing holiday scenes, basketball games and shared trends.
Many viewers enjoy watching the family’s interactions, while some social media users have criticised the decision to have so many children.
Some people have been vocal in their comments, with one follower saying “This should be abuse.” Another wrote “She’s been pregnant her whole adult life!!!!” A third added “Omg. I am exhausted. Give that woman a damn break, sir.” One viewer also commented “You guys need a different hobby.”
Family life online shows lots of moments
Karissa offers insight into her choices on social media. Her explanation for her approach to family planning is “prevention is refusing life from God.” The family’s videos are typically set in their spacious home, and supportive followers shared positive reactions on posts, including “Be fruitful and multiply! I love this.” Another said “What a blessing!” and a third added “I love y’all’s family!!” One commenter wrote “I truly don’t understand the problem at all.”
The Collins family’s 11 children still number fewer than another well known large UK family, Sue and Noel Radford, who have 22 children. The Radfords became known through their Channel 5 series 22 Kids and Counting, which first aired in 2021 and has had multiple seasons and specials. The show continued into 2024, with plans for new episodes later in the year.
