A couple took the term "sky-high romance" to a whole new level and landed themselves in the emergency room after attempting to have sex mid-skydive.
William and Leslie, whose shocking escapade was featured on TLC’s Sex Sent Me to the ER, decided to spice up their skydiving experience - but it didn't end well.
“I’m an adrenaline junkie, and she’s an adrenaline junkie in training,” William explained on the show, per Daily Mail.
Leslie added: “I’m very, very sexually active. William can just look at me and, honey, I’m just, bam. It’s gotta be on.”
The couple had only been dating for about a year at the time, but were already known for their adventurous bedroom antics.
“When it comes to sex, I come up with all the ideas,” Leslie said. “I come up with a lot of different ways to try to have sex.”
That daring creativity led to Leslie’s boldest idea yet: sex during freefall.
From thrill to the emergency room
In a dramatized reenactment, the couple was shown making out in the back of the plane before launching into their ambitious airborne plan.
According to Leslie, they wore baggy shorts and figured they’d be able to “connect without a hassle.”
They did, in fact, manage to pull it off. “We’re having sex, we’re making love,” William recalled. But in the middle of the passion, the excitement turned into terror.
“The next time I look at the timer it hits me, we’re in trouble,” William said.
Realizing how close they were to the ground, William scrambled to deploy Leslie’s parachute first. But he struggled with his own, slamming into the earth with enough force to break his nose and leave him with severe pain in his groin.
“When I saw him on the ground, the first thought I had was, ‘He’s dead,’” Leslie said.
"A big relief" in the ER
Thankfully, William survived the fall, though his ego and his private part took a massive hit.
“The very first pain is in my groin and on my left leg,” he said. “So not only might I be done skydiving, I might be done pleasing my woman.” Leslie also admitted: “I actually thought that our sex life was done completely.”
Doctors revealed that William had a broken nose and bruising where his harness pinched him in the groin during the fall.
But there was one major silver lining for the couple - his manhood was still intact. “That was a big relief,” William said.
Why you probably shouldn’t try this
While the stunt might sound like a wild story to tell, experts warn that skydiving is absolutely not the time to get intimate.
“You don’t know what’s gonna happen when you put two bodies together at that kind of fall rate,” William himself admitted in hindsight.
