A man has opened up about living with a micropenis, revealing the moment he first realized, and how others can tell if they might have one too.
The idea of a micropenis is enough to make many a grown man shudder; the medically recognized condition affects just 0.6% of the world’s men, with anything below 2.95 inches considered micro.
Being the owner of a particularly small manhood often means there are regular shortcomings when it comes to intimacy, in addition to the social embarrassment many are laden with.
Speaking on the Kat Baker podcast, Nathan said that for much of his early life, he had no idea anything was different, simply because he had nothing to compare himself to.
“For the first huge portion of your life, you're kind of on your own with it. You don't really have anything to compare it to,” he explained. “I used to think growing up… ‘Oh yeah, I'm… packing a hog right now.’”
It wasn’t until college that reality hit, in a way he admits was both shocking and strangely defining.
After a hookup, Nathan recalled overhearing his partner speaking about him the next day: “She’s like, ‘Yeah, and Nathan’s d*** is so [__] small.’”
He admitted the moment “shattered everything” at first, but quickly took an unexpected turn. “For a second I was hurt, but then the next second I was like, ‘Oh… what’s going on right now?’” he said, adding that it ultimately shaped how he views himself. “The kink was born right then in that moment… I liked it because it was just such brutal honesty.”
Nathan also shared a surprisingly practical takeaway for men unsure about their size, saying many people simply don’t measure correctly.
“First, learn how to measure your d*** properly. It’s from the top,” he said, urging people to “figure out where you actually are and see if you actually do have a micropenis.”
He pointed out that misconceptions are common, even recalling how he once got it completely wrong himself. “I was measuring from underneath… I was like, ‘Dude I’m working with like 15 inches right now,’” he joked.
Despite the stigma, Nathan insisted that having a micropenis doesn’t define your sex life, or your confidence: “There’s so many other things that you could do with a partner,” he said. “Ultimately just learn that it’s not that big of a deal… life does go on and there are people out there that really just do not care.”
In fact, he claims most of the negativity doesn’t even come from partners. “The people who have made a big deal out of it are toxic, insecure men,” he added.
Now, years on from that initial moment in college, Nathan says he’s fully embraced who he is, and wants others to do the same.
“Work with what you’ve got,” he said. “Don’t make it a big deal… because then no one else will either.”
