Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known around the world to wrestling fans by his ring name Pac, has passed away at the age of 40.
All Elite Wrestling announced the news on Sunday night, September 27, 2026. The announcement came just one day after Satterley competed in a marquee match at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago.
Satterley competed at the NOW Arena on Saturday night against AEW national champion Andrade. Following his match, Satterley received a respectful handshake in the ring from Andrade.
Later in the evening, he also made an appearance during the main event match between Death Riders leader Jon Moxley and AEW World Champion Will Ospreay. No cause of death has been provided by officials or representatives.
The wrestling community reacted immediately to the loss of the accomplished performer. AEW president Tony Khan shared his condolences on social media following the news.
“Benjamin Satterley defined excellence, as a beloved husband & friend to his many loved ones, + in his wrestling knowledge, skill, unprecedented athleticism, professionalism, consistency + dedication to the sport that he loved & traveled the world to pursue,” AEW president Tony Khan wrote on X. “May Ben rest in peace.”
All Elite Wrestling also released an official organization statement honoring the veteran athlete.
“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac,” the wrestling promotion said in a statement. “A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.
"Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his journey in professional wrestling in 2004. Over two decades, he built a global reputation for combining remarkable aerial acrobatics with incredible physical strength.
His unique abilities earned him contracts with the top wrestling organizations in North America and Europe.
Before his time in AEW, Satterley gained worldwide prominence in WWE, performing under the name Neville from 2012 to 2018. During his WWE tenure, he was billed as "The Man That Gravity Forgot" due to his breathtaking aerial maneuvers, most notably his signature finishing move, the Black Arrow corkscrew-senton splash.
His achievements in WWE included winning the NXT Championship, holding the NXT Tag Team Championship twice, and securing two reigns as the WWE Cruiserweight Champion.
After departing WWE and spending roughly a year performing on the independent circuit, Satterley signed with AEW in 2019. Rebranding himself as "The Bastard" Pac, he shifted his in-ring approach toward a more grueling, physical style. He frequently forced opponents to submit using his signature front-facelock hold, the Brutalizer.
Satterley achieved notable milestones during his years with AEW. He became the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion and earned two reigns as an AEW Trios Champion. Initially forming the popular Death Triangle group alongside Rey Fenix and Penta, Satterley later aligned himself with the Death Riders faction starting in late 2025.
His death comes during a difficult month for the professional wrestling world.
On September 9, former AEW wrestler Andy "The Butcher" Williams died at age 48 after collapsing during an independent promotion match in Pittsburgh. Satterley had recently honored Williams on social media prior to his own passing.
