Tommy Lee Jones and Family Release Statement
“We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” the family wrote in a statement obtained by Page Six on Friday evening.
“Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.” The statement was signed, “The Family of Victoria Kafka Jones.”
The San Francisco Police Department and hotel staff have been cooperating as investigators work to understand what happened.
Shocking 911 Call and Emergency Response Details
Authorities were alerted just before 3:00AM on New Year’s Day after a hotel guest reported that Victoria might be intoxicated, leading staff to check on her.
A 911 call obtained by the Daily Mail described a “code 3 for the overdose, color change,” a phrase indicating a forceful emergency response with lights and sirens and referring to cyanosis, a discoloration caused by lack of oxygen in the blood.
First responders and bystanders performed CPR, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the emergency call pointed to a possible overdose, police did not find any drug paraphernalia near her body.
Investigators have said there were no signs of foul play, trauma, or suicide, and the San Francisco Police Department has confirmed that the Medical Examiner conducted an on-scene investigation.
It remains unclear whether Victoria was a guest at the hotel or how she came to be on the 14th floor.
Ongoing Investigation and Police Statement
A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department confirmed officers responded to the hotel on the 900 block of Mason Street at approximately 3:14AM.
“On 1/1/26 at approximately 3:14AM, San Francisco Police officers responded to a hotel located on the 900 block of Mason street regarding a report of a deceased person. At the scene, officers met with medics, who declared the adult female deceased,” the spokesperson said.
“The Medical Examiner arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.”

"The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.”
