Stand-up comedian Pete Davidson has been shunned on social media after he made a controversial joke about not being able to enjoy adult films since the birth of his daughter.
He made a joke about one major change he has had to make since becoming a “girl dad” during his show at Fontainebleau in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 11.
The gag began with: “[I] got a little girl. It's weird having a little girl,” according to Us Weekly.
He admitted it's “hard to watch porn... in front of her.”
But, it was his follow-up that made fans squirm, as he quickly added: “I still did. I power through.”
The former Saturday Night Live star and ex of Kim Kardashian welcomed his first child, daughter Scottie Rose, with his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt in December 2025.
During his Las Vegas show, which was his return to stand-up comedy after having five months off, he told the crowd he had been enjoying the first few months of fatherhood.
However, social media users focused on the joke about watching porn in front of a baby and called the joke “creepy”.
One X user said: “I never once liked this guy because he’s unfunny but this gives me an even better reason to dislike him this is genuinely disgusting”.
Another added: “I see he’s transitioning from Hollywood's favourite sneaky link to the creepy uncle phenotype”.
He said, “It's a lot of fun,” and later added that becoming a first-time parent has been “great”.
Pete also opened up to Us Weekly in January about his first month of fatherhood, saying: “Nothing else matters as much or intensely, like career, activities, hanging out with people [or] what do people think of me, that sort of s***.
"I still want to do cool stuff, but it's like, 'Well, how long do I have to be away?' Or, 'Is this worth being away?'" he added.
The comedian is making a gradual return to stand-up; his next performance is at Capitol Theatre in New York on April 22.
Pete has been in a number of films, including The Pickup, Guardians of the Galaxy and Riff Raff and also released his own stand-up Netflix special in 2024, Pete Davidson: Turbo Fonzarelli.
