Katy Perry is once again at the center of a controversy as a previous sexual misconduct allegation has resurfaced, this time from her former co-star, Josh Kloss.
Kloss, who appeared alongside Perry in the 2010 music video for 'Teenage Dream,' came forward in 2019 with claims about an uncomfortable and humiliating experience while filming.
The recent resurfacing of these allegations follows Ruby Rose’s own accusations against Perry, further fueling public scrutiny surrounding the pop star's alleged past behavior.
Josh Kloss shared a disturbing incident that he said took place after the music video was filmed. He claimed that during a meeting after shooting wrapped, Perry exposed his private parts to her friends by pulling down his Adidas sweats and underwear in front of a crowd.
Kloss described the alleged incident as deeply embarrassing and stated that it left him feeling degraded. "Can you imagine how pathetic and embarrassed I felt?" he wrote on social media, adding that he felt "assaulted and belittled" by the experience.
Ruby Rose has added to the controversy with her own claims of sexual assault against Katy Perry. Rose described an incident at a nightclub in Melbourne, where Perry allegedly rubbed her vagina against Rose’s face in a public setting.
Rose explained, "She didn't kiss me. She saw me 'resting' on my best friend's lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her," adding that the event was witnessed by multiple people.
Rose said that she had kept the alleged encounter a secret because Perry offered to help her secure a U.S. visa, but later noted, "The psychological manipulation was strong with that one."
Australian police are currently investigating the matter.
Kloss also revealed how the experience affected him in the long term. He explained that, despite his discomfort, he was restricted by Perry’s representatives from publicly discussing the incident.
"I made only $650 from the video while being lorded over by her reps, about not discussing a single thing about anything regarding Katy publicly," Kloss stated in a since-deleted Instagram post in August 2019, per RadarOnline. He later added that the experience was one of the most confusing, assaulting, and belittling jobs he’s ever done.
Kloss’s decision to speak out has highlighted a broader discussion about the abuse of power in the entertainment industry, as he stated that men with power are often scrutinized while similar behavior from women, he claims, is overlooked.
His statements have contributed to a larger conversation on the treatment of individuals in the entertainment world.
