The Golden Globes 2026 took place on Sunday night, and just like years before, it wasn’t without some truly spectacular moments — especially as host Nikki Glaser was back for the second time with her trademark abundance of jokes.
And while some she let play out, a few earned a rare apology from the standup.
At one point, she turned her attention to Sinners star Michael B. Jordan, referencing his portrayal of twin characters Smoke and Stack in the Ryan Coogler horror film.
Lighting up about having two versions of him, she told the crowd: "I can’t believe it, we got two Michael B. Jordans. When I saw that, I was like, Nikki B. Jerkin’, because that was awesome."
As everyone around erupted into laughter, the cameras caught the expression of the 38-year-old actor’s mom, Donna Jordan, who was sitting next to her son. Donna was seen rolling her eyes and taking a sip of her drink.
Nikki also got sight of the reaction and quickly offered an apology to the matriarch of the Jordan family. She told them: “I know your mom, I’m so sorry, I should not have said that to you. That should've been a DM."
Earlier in the evening, Nikki, 41, kicked off her monologue with a tongue-in-cheek comment calling the awards ceremony the “most important thing happening in the world right now,” before making digs at the recent Netflix acquisition of Warner Bros and the heavily redacted Epstein files.
She then turned her attention to actor Leonardo DiCaprio, 51, roasting him about the young age of his girlfriends and earning whoops of laughter from the audience.
Even Leo himself couldn’t resist a chuckle. Nikki then added: “I’m sorry I made that joke. It’s cheap, you know what, I tried not to, but like, we don’t know anything else about you, man.”
And while Leo’s One Battle After Another co-stars Chase Infinity, Benicio Del Toro, and Teyana Taylor got away without any quips, she told Sean Penn he was morphing into a “sexy leather handbag”. Never change, Nikki, never change.
The 83rd annual Golden Globes marks the second time Nikki has hosted, with the first time in 2025, when she opened up with: “Welcome to the Golden Globes: Ozempic’s biggest night! I gotta say, this feels like I’ve finally made it. I’m in a room full of producers at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and this time all of my clothes are on. It was worth it!”
She also delivered a hilarious monologue that included a musical number about the films Wicked and Conclave, which included the line, “you’re gonna be Pope-ular.”
Nikki also couldn’t resist roasting beloved actress Zendaya. She told the crowd: “You were incredible in Dune. Oh my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good... and Challengers, girl? Oh my God! That movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card, I mean, seriously.
"I’m sorry, I’m upset too. The afterparty is not going to be as good this year, but we have to move on. I know a Stanley Tucci freak-off doesn’t have the same ring to it. No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”
